how come there are native(filifino) words that doesnt have english translations and vice versa eg. atis,cake?

All languages have "idiosyncracies" that are not translatable into other languages. There are several reasons. Some languages have larger or smaller vocabularies. For exampe, while English may have several words for the same thing such as trash, garbage, waste, rubbish, etc., some languages would have only one word for trash.

I don't think there would be any any English-Punjabi translation services out there as Punjabi isn't that popular a language. In the Indian subcontinent Punjabi is quite popular with the 'poorer' people. This is a fact, I'm not being mean. Urdu, however is the language of choice for more wealthier and influential circles as it is a highly respectable language, with many words for addressing certain people of a higher status included, you cant go wrong! Therefore, you could probably find an Urdu translator, as its not drastically different to Punjabi, but would require a separate translator.

Different languages developped seperately, so they don't always include words that have a meaning that corresponds to a particular word in another language. There is usually something that is close enough to make a rough translation, though. It's like in French, the one verb "devoir" translates into English as "to have to", "to should to", or "must" - there is only that one word that is the closest translation for all of those English words, even though the three English words each mean something different. It is strange, as a native English speaker, to speak French, because I feel like there should be seperate words for "have to" and "should", since they mean different things, but languages just don't work like that. They don't translate directly.

probably the english language has more words that they use that other native people do not use...or may not even know what the word is or means...there is words in the english language that i do not know what they mean....
