I was born and raised in NYC, and I live in Manhattens Upper West Side

for school, I have to pick ONE NYC subway line and choose three random stops to get off at and right about the neighborhood I'm in.

What are some interesting neighborhoods I should check out?

One that is safe and not slumy thanks, but I'm open to anywhere in the city not just Manhatten

Riverdale, it's would be the end of the line, right before you hit Yonkers. That's where I grew up, before moving to Ireland. It's a lovely neighborhood. With places like Cortlandt Manor, in the large Van Cotlandt Park (I believe George Washington stayed there for a time), Wave Hill (rented by Pres. Roosevelt's family for some time & later by Mark Twain), it also contains the area of Feildston (If you're not aware, it is a very upmarket area of the city). Riverdale is a lovely neighborhood, and for the most part, it's a very attractive looking neighborhood. I have a soft spot for it, as you can tell, and may be slightly biased. haha. If you check it out though, you might see why.
