If this happened lately, EVERYBODY would have noticed and been interested.

Do you agree that miracles happen everyday, such as something as big as parting seas? Or are they just blatant miniscule ocurrences as a result of something other than god, that people try to twist into being god work?

This is an extension of Spookshow's question.

Majority of the events people consider are miracles are often not miracles but because they often resemble miracles so they're often confused as one. I believe the bleeding statues, burnt toast and other off the wall miracles like those are a hoax made by really troubled people trying to get attention but this is no reason to doubt God.

i agree with u
signs of the end of the world happened and some still

The Quran provides many signs, and states that the means for unveiling the end of the world have been given

1- The splitting of the moon: This already happened in June 1969 when man landed on the moon and brought back moon rocks. People on earth can go now to many museums, colleges and observatories to look at pieces of the moon.

"The Hour has come closer, and the moon has split." 54:1

2- Discovering the Quran's 19-based mathematical code (74:30-37)

3- The Creature (27:82): The Quran has predicted that at the right time God will produce a creature that will be instrumental in unveiling God's signs. This was fulfilled, the creature was the computer which was instrumental in unveiling the Quran's numerical code, and proclaiming that the world has neglected God's message.

"At the right time, we will produce for them a creature, made of earthly materials, declaring that the people are not certain about our revelations." 27:82

Note that the digits that make up 27:82 add up to 19

4- Appearance of God's Messenger of the Covenant (3:8l) :

A consolidating messenger, prophesied in the Quran, comes after all the prophets have delivered the scriptures, to purify and unify. This prophecy was fulfilled in Ramadan 1408.

"GOD took a covenant from the prophets, saying, 'I will give you the scripture and wisdom. Afterwards, a messenger will come to confirm all existing scriptures, You shall believe in him and support him.' He said, 'Do you agree with this, and pledge to fulfill this covenant?' They said, 'We agree.' He said, 'You have thus borne witness, and I bear witness along with you." 3:81

5- The Smoke (44:10): occurs after God's Messenger of the Covenant has delivered the unified message and proclaimed Islam (Submission) as the only religion acceptable by God.

"Therefore, watch for the day when the sky brings a profound smoke." 44:10

6- Gog and Magog: they re-appear, in accordance with God's plan, in the year 1700 AH (2271 AD). Gog and Magog are mentioned in 18:94 and 21:96. If you count the verses from 18:94 to the end of Sura 18, you find them 17. If you count the verses from 21:96 to the end of Sura 21, you find them also 17. This is the Quran's sign that Gog and Magog will re-appear in 1700 AH.

"They said, 'O Zul-Qarnain, Gog and Magog are corruptors of the earth. Can we pay you to create a barrier between us and them?" 18:94

"Not until Gog and Magog reappear, will they then return - they will come from every direction." 21:96

Not me but in the philpies I had a friend who was a missionary in the 80's who told of many of them where theywere. Not parting the red sea significant but still varifiable supernatural experiences. In 1982 I was friends with an old man who had one leg 3/4 of an inch longer than his other and it began giving him severe back pain for which he went to a doctor and x-rays were taken. A few months later he called me early and said He had seen and angel at the foot of his bed and that he was sure he had been healed. X-rays were taken latter that week by Dr. Stuci at the Platteville municiple hospital and his bones were the same legth. Robert Carter was his name and would be happy to prove it to you. This is not a red sea job but you might know the red sea thing was a timing miracle of people in place when a natural caticism took place so perhaps this is pretty similar.

God communicates with you from everywhere even perhaps in this very forum, and yes one can Worship Jesus as one would a hero and not be worshiping god, like I sai semantics, two definitions for one word.

Kiki-la,
It's right under everyones nose. It's so very obvious and yet overlooked beyond understanding. It's actually funny to me at times. But people don't see it. They are caught up in their own opinions, and shallow studies and lack of interest to get it right.

But those that deny the Holy Spirit are the ones without the miracle. They attempt to understand things that only the Holy Spirit brings understanding to. And I haven't really told you what it is yet.

So the Atheist and basic nonbelievers go to their gainsaying internet sites to try to refute the truth, time and time again. And Time and time again they are met with rebuttals and refutations. They ask questions that are not supposed to help them understand! NO! There is no attempt to understand by the questions asked. The questions are meant to offset, to upset, and to disrupt the Christian effort.

Yet the daily miracle continues.

And that miracle is the blessing God brings those that are His. They understand the scriptures. A miracle in itself. Those that deny God, I could bet money, they try to ask a question with the lack of understanding, and get it all wrong right at the start.

I think that is greater than parting the Red Sea. Because it's so subtle to the unbeliever. It goes right past their face, and they don't even blink. But there it is for your eyes.

Will you believe it?

God is more real than we are after all He made us.And He does miracles in my life pretty much on a daily basis. But I believe and He operates in my belief.I don't know so much about major miracles but that is because He wants us to have freewill and choose Him for who He is and not what He is and what we can get from Him.All I can say is if your faith gets strong enough you too can witness the supernatural and believe me it is totally awesome! In my own opinion it is even better than mushrooms or LSD but then again He created everything so I guess it stands to reason.Take Care,And May God Bless You.

Face it, honey. You're a victim of the media. You only know what they tell you. You believe what they tell you. As such, you miss out on all the good stuff.

For instance, I have a friend who contracted polio as a child. He's walked with crutches all his life. Yet, at a Christian conference he was healed of the effects of polio and now shows absolutely no signs of it.

His doctors are astounded. He's been through a TON of tests.

Why didn't it make the 5pm news? Why don't any such things make the news?

Miracles happen. You have to differentiate, however, between miracles and unexplainable phenomena. A miracle is something that can't be explained using the sum of all available information at the time it occurs.

Look at the PC you're working on. 100 Years ago, this would have been a miracle.

The raising of Lazarus from the dead was a miracle 2000 years ago, and it still is today.

I think that God still does perform amazing miracles today. I dont think that it happens as much in the good ol' US of A or other dominate countries. But i have heard amazing eye witnessing stories from missionaries at my church about blind people being healed and regaining their sight. I think that miracles like "parting the sea" do happen in less developed countries.

Is that what it will take for you to believe? God has already a well established, fully documented perfect plan for our salvation, and in the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross.

I do believe that God's miracle power is at work every day and all over the world but now unlike the old testament days, God requires us to operate in faith. So for our own benefit He does not reveal Himself in quite the same way He would have during say Moses days.

The onus is on us to take a step of faith by God's grace He has done everythings needed for our salvation including giving up His Son to die for us.

Joh 3:16-17
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. (KJV)

When an evil purpose works out for good instead this is a miracle. It doesn't have to be a huge event. Come to Christ trust Him fully and you will see them. Till them you will call us foolish. Who knows if God has chosen you.. If He has you will not be able to escape you will be His... Jim
