It's Gosling's Family Reserve Old Rum. Has anyone tried it? Does anyone drink aged sipping rums? Would you pay $80 for it.

Personally, I'm not much of a rum drinker, though I've spend over $60 USD on a bottle of Scotch. For each spirit, rum, Scotch, Cognac, there are distinct qualities that connoisseurs will pay top dollar for. $80 isn't even close to a top dollar rum, either.

Even for the uninitiated (like me) there's a hugely noticeable difference between the high quality, aged sipping rums and the likes of Bacardi...to somebody it is indeed worth $80+

I like Gosling's Black Seal, but since I only drink rum in mixed drinks or in cola, I wouldn't pay $80 for it. I do pay a little more for good mixing rum, though. The bad stuff will ruin an otherwise good drink.

If I was to pay that much for a bottle of anything like that, with my luck, I would drop it in the parking lot and never make it home with it to even taste...

i read the answer below me i guess it is ....but i would not pay that much for a bottle of anything to drink....and i would probably drop it to...you know paying that much for something you try to be more careful and that is when i seem to have the worst luck...but i do not think i would spend that much at all....you will probably find me around the fuzzy navels and drinks like that...
