real gentleman to me is someone who cares about others not only for women but for other men as well..

he should be well groom, i mean dress properly and accordingly, softly spoken, stand straightly and walk like a man who knows of himself. look confident and assure of his poise.

he should be opening the door for a lady getting in and out of the car, or in any establishment with doors, bow or nod to other as sign of respect, always willing to assist other in distress especially older people, present himself with dignity, shake hands or accept or offer an apology for any misunderstanding, offer to seat a lady, those are some manner that distinguished a man to become a gentleman in my book..

im not sure of other but that is my opinion...

He is respectful and considerate in his interactions with others. It is treating his lady like a treasure to be protected. In the past, it might have shown up by the gentleman laying his cloak over a puddle so that the lady could keep her shoes clean. In the present it might mean defending her, not pressuring her, doing little things that show respect (the door, etc.), not using foul language around her, being on time to pick her up, etc., whatever you can think of that shows complete respect and consideration. If you are going to meet her parents, dress particularly neatly and conservatively, since that generation has stricter ideas of what shows respect than the modern generation does.

Humm a guy who treats a lady with respect. Holds the door open for her, pays for dinner, pays her compliments and not for the sake to get her in bed. Have you ever seen the movie Kate and Leopold? That's the ultimate gentleman. Pity there are no guys like that in real life :(

Just you asking this question and wanting to be a gentleman is cute! Simpley opening doors and being a good listner and respecting women is very gentlemanly. Treating your mother and grandmother nicely. Hair and voice and stuff doesn't have anything to do with it. you're mixing up gentleman with sexy. It is so absolutley irresistably adorable to see a guy show affection to his little sister or brother or a baby or any other little kid. It makes me melt!

A gentle men pulls out your chair and pushes it in, opens the doors for you no matter if car or in public, just anywhere, Body has nothing to do with someone being a gentle men as long as they dont have a real bad body odor, And needs to be respectful towards a women, no names whatsoever no matter how mad she makes you, and make her feel needed. Show manners and be polite. And be the one to pay for everything even if she offers.

I'm a straight male. But still. I feel a gentlemen, obviously by definition, is someone who will sacrifice anything to make sure the people around them are comfortable at all times. So opening the door, giving flowers, that kind of stuff is that of a gentlemen.

honestly sytle, clothing, face matter. its all about the way a man treats a lady. A women ALWAYS wants to feel like a princess, so here are some key things:
-after the date walk her to her front door (no girl likes to walk up to her door in the dark...)
-open up doors for her, and make it a habit
-never, ever, (ever) look at other women when you are with her. this is sooo offensive. my bf did this for the longest time.
-Call when you say you say you will call
-listen to her.
