It's not immoral to shoot feral cats. Morality has nothing to do with eliminating pests. Would you ask the same question about swatting a mosquito? You do your community a service when removing the diseased vermin from circulation.

Check to see what your local laws are. If it's permitted, load up and have a good time with it. Aim for the head, or just behind the front legs on the lower third of the feral's torso. Rimfire calibers such as .17 and .22 are perfect for feral cats.

Very cruel to shoot any cats unless a cat is so severely injured and a vet clinic is way too far away and it's suffering terribly.

Call your animal control people so they can humanely trap the cats and get them to a rescue group who can help the strays trust again and get themdewormed and spayed or neutered and adopted by people who want them and will love them.

I think its terrible. I don't shoot them - I adopt them and get them spayed. Obviously you shouldn't do that if you were going to shoot them! But some control needs to be done because they will simply multiply. I have heard of people who catch them, take them to be spayed and release them back. I guess you could call animal control although they will traumatize them by catching them - they will be scared - and keeping them in cages until they are adopted or put to death. Either way is bad. But anything is better than coldly shooting them.

What is the stray doing? Is it using your flower beds for a kitty box? Put strays in you flower bed, far enough apart, you nuisance cat can't get a "foothold". Is it in your garbage? Secure you garbage better. What is the need to shoot your neighbours cat?

of course it is not okay to shoot strays...you should trap them and send them off to the humane society. Lots of pet owners let their cats roam, and you may shoot someones pet, which may result in YOU getting shot.

Hahaha! We had a problem with a stray... but my dear mother-in-law caught it up and took it to the spca while I was away...so dont shoot them, just take them away...

appears you never heard of TNR (trap neuter return) a way of helping to limit the number of strays. if anyone should be shot it is the irresponsible pet owners who let their pets roam ( also unfixed) & expose them to so many dangers such as people who want to shot or otherwise harm innocent animals.

don't because what if you miss. Rent a cat trap from your local SPCA, and bring the cats to the shelter to be humanly euthanized
