Sorry it's kind of long, but I really need the help.

Well truth is I've liked this same guy for over a year now and he found out @ the end of last year and I was told he just wanted to be friends.

This year my friend told him for me about 2 weeks ago, and nothing happened. He did start talking to me more and smiling at me all the time, but he never said anything b/c he's shy about this stuff. 2 days ago, this guy friend of mine told his bus about it, and someone missheard what he said. This guy told 10 people that I was going out with my crush, and everyone was giving us both crap because we're not the most likely pair. He's super outgoing and loud and everyone thinks he's annoying while i'm a flirt but relatively shy.
Anyways, so he's freaking out about this rumor and I confronted him today and his friends kept nudging him. He was SO red and seemed sad-I kinda yelled at him.

Does it sound like he likes me and is just shy about it? What can I say to him to sort things out?

And the big problem is that he thought I was spreading the rumors about us, at least that's what his friend told me. I'm pretty sure his friend lied though. My crush stared at me the entire lunch period today, and I honestly don't know how to act anymore. I have a class with him, how can I make things less awkward? How can I apologize for yelling without ruining everything and embarrassing him further?

Hi,
seems as though you really are in a shitty situation. I know it can be tough since you yell at someone you really care about.
He wont forget it.
What you can do though is give him and yourself some time to cool off.We both know how terrible you feel but that's not going to change that you made him feel really bad in front of a lot of friends.
Now he's a bit confused.
He's not so sure if you like him because you wouldn't shout at someone you were interested in.
Try talking to him alone then do nice things for him.
Eg. Buy him a present. It shouldn't be anything grand but something really simple and thoughtful.

Cheers and good luck

You need to talk to him without his friends around and see how he really feels. Screw what everyone else thinks.
