A guy I work with approach me we started talking and he asked me to lunch, part of the way through lunch he starts talking about his wife and baby. Why would a married guy ask me to lunch? Do you think he is just looking for a friend or what?

I'm not sure if he is just looking for a friend or not, but you should make sure that "friend" is all you are to him, do not allow it to become anything more, you would be playing with fire if you did and would get hurt.

If I were in your position and had been invited to lunch by a man at work, I might go, but not more that once every couple of weeks and only if my own husband or a girl-friend could come along - no sitting with him alone as that will send the wrong message.

Behave as you would want someone to do if it were your husband.

Why can no longer it in simple terms be lunch? Have lunch with him and discover out...if he says or does something that reasons you to sense uncomfortable or which you locate irrelevant, then end the lunch and enable that be that. maybe he in simple terms sees it as an opportune time to get closer an previous pal.
