prices vary depending on where you live, the quality of the kitten, i.e. pet quality or from a top breeder, and also the colour makes a difference with the rarer colours like red tabby point, or lilac point, being more expensive than seal or chocolate point. They are highly intelligent and very vocal cats. They will talk to you all day long. Their miow sounds a bit like a baby crying. A lot of people are put off by the fact that they are noisy compared to other breeds . I had siamese cats years ago and adore them.
Prices are around £250 for a kitten.
If you decide to get one, avoid places like Harrods who are simply animal dealers who buy off kitten farmers and puppy farmers.Go direct to a breeder and expect to be vetteed and have questions asked of you. A breeder who isn't interested in the home and is more interested in how you will be paying, is not the sort of person who you want to be buying from.
There is also a Siamese rescue who may have adult siamese available for adoption.
Mine lived active country lives, hunted for rodents like any other cats, ate ordinary cat food like my other cats and lived until they were around 14 years old. They aren't delicate not by any means. I never had hairball problems with mine but then I don't with my other 12 cats either.

I work at the Harrods pet shop and we are selling ours for £600 (lol), There aren't really any special ways of looking after them but Royal Canin have a special siamese formula cat food which goes for about £12 for 2kg but any premium cat food or indoor food would be fine, i've known siamese's to cough up hairballs more than other breeds i've seen

Get a rescue cat! You don't have to get a "special breed" cat from a breeder. There are lots of wonderful kitties in rescues, and as a previous poster said, having a specific breed doesn't guarantee that you'll see those traits. If you are hellbent on getting a siamese or abyssinian, there are plenty of rescues out there for those particular kinds of cats. I have put a link to one down below so you know what I mean.

Check at your local pet sanctuary to see if they have any Siamese before shedding out a load of money for one from a breeder. You'll not only be saving money but giving a unwanted cat a new home :)
See if the cats protection league have a sanctuary near you

i got a siamese girl in february, she was £300, i live in scotland and tried lookin on the internet 4 months 4 a siamese rescue centre that i could get one from but i couldnt find one anywhere, see if there is one near u, she is very different from my other moggies, she is very talkative and will jump on my shoulder if i ignore her, she doesnt like bein alone and will sit curled on my chest havin a cuddle, also its best they are indoor cats, just goin in the garden on a lead with u as many go missin cos of how much they are worth. i wouldnt keep a siamese as an only pet as they really crave company.

my dad bought one for £375 which i think is about average for pet quality. If you want the cat for breeding or show quality the price goes up. Higest ive ever known is £650 but i think thats overpriced even for show quality.
