I can't seem to switch the visualization page to full screen. I can watch it in the maximized window, but the top and bottom bars are still visible. Clicking the "full screen" icon doesn't work. Screen goes totally black for a minute, then just goes back to the window view. Wondering what the problem could be...

Thanks for your answers!

Do you have the new version 11? It's still in Beta, but it's already Beta 2 and quite good. Try it! If you decide to go back to 10, just unsinstall 11 (via add/remove progs.) and you'll get v. 10 back exactly as you had it. Works pretty smoothly.

Get it here: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/11/default.aspx

Well it sounds like you're in "full" mode, but if not you can get there by clicking on "view" from the bar, or ctrl + 1. Also, by moving your mouse to anywhere towards the middle of the screen after you click the full icon SHOULD make the bars disappear after 2 seconds, depending on the version of player you're using (did they disappear before?)

It also just might be a small hitch in the program. If it's doing it to all of your media, a system restore or reinstall might be the thing.

If it were me, I'd start with downloading the absolute latest version of WMP, which is version 11 (click help, then "about" to check your version) from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=bcf8a0d8-81e7-4ea5-be55-3673e5b33368&DisplayLang=en It has all the latest bells and whistles, and will effectively replace anything that's wrong. It's only been out about 6 weeks. I've been using it about a month, and have noticed how much smoother it is. I'm betting that it will solve your problem.

Good luck
