when I was in 8th grade I decided I hated the hair on my arms. I thought it looked horrible. So I shaved it off. It was all good until a boy I liked noticed. Then he started to make fun of me. He would reach out and touch my arms and call me names. Then when I finally got fed up with it and quit doing it (by the way, you have to shave like every other day to keep it smooth) He reached out one day and felt the stubble and just left me alone.

I donno - do what you want. But I finally got over it and now realize how stupid it probably was. Didn't score me any points thats for sure.

Long-term data on safety and effectiveness have not been accurately established.

Response rates have not been established.

Regrowth rates have not been accurately established and cannot be predicted due to numerous variables.

Generally not as effective on unpigmented (gray) hairs and red or blonde hair.

Must be used very cautiously (if at all) on darker skin tones or on consumers who tan themselves.

Improper treatment can cause burns, lesions, skin discoloration lasting several months, or patchy/patterned regrowth.

Recent data suggest other skin structures are often affected by laser irradiation, and long term effects of this constitute an unknown risk.

Requires eye protection.

Can be expensive.

Some find treatment painful.

Regulation varies by state, so inadequate controls exist to ensure competent practitioners.

Some consumers, even ideal candidates, do not respond to treatment.

I don't recommend teens to do anything until they are at least 16 years old. I didn't even think of shaving my legs until I was at least 14 1/2.

Cancer is a possibility.
