US Embassy, see http://www.usembassy.org.uk/ukembabt.html and have a look around. its fairly simple to understand, or make an appointment at your nearest US Embassy perhaps... but website probably more productive.
If you are non UK citizen, you could have a search for the "green card lottery" which is only applicable to certain countries though...
