Brutal_Yet _Beautiful, don't expect to become a perfect Christian instantly, and without help. God not only knows your thoughts, but also your limitations. And believe me, holding all these thoughts inside you and ruminating on them will not do you any good, especially if you are prone to depression and, apparently, some other problems too. You need help from a spiritual advisor, someone (a priest) to whom to confess regularly and who, of course, will take care also of your proper integration in the Church, because you sound like you are going through a converting moment and are (or feel) isolated. I strongly urge you to find an Orthodox Christian community (parish) in your area, not only because this is my faith and I strongly believe this is the one true faith, but also because, to my knowledge, Orthodox Christianity is the only one with a strong tradition of spiritual advice for the individual through the mystery of confession.
Also, if you are in the process of converting, you are living the parable of the prodigal son. Show to God all your worries and suffering, and your desire to return to Him, and He will receive you with all the love. (But don't expect miraculous occurences or feelings because I'm told not everyone has them.) Also, ask God's help and protection on anything. If you are especially afraid of something, you can pray to God on the spot to be relieved of the fear and/or of the danger, as appropriate. And definitely ask God's help on finding the right community and priest for you.
May God help you!
PLEASE, don't slash your wrists! This is just a temptation the evil one in playing on you. Christians don't kill themselves because they don't kill! Killing yourself would make you die an unrepented murderer and prevent you from saving your soul and reaching the heavenly kingdom!
And of course God will not strike you by lightening at your demand. May God help you figure your way out of this temptation... One thing to remember: everything that happens to us is not above our powers. With God's help, every obstacle smoothes out, we meet the right people who can help us, we get the right ideas in our mind... Please, pray for God's help! And if you still feel those self-harming desires and you procrastinate about finding a father confessor (which will relieve you greatly, trust me on this), at least do what the secular world urges you and ask your doctor or psychologist for help. Please!!!

Yes, motivation is the principle reason to believe in a god (or gods depending on preference), or maybe more accurately, we need a reason to stuff food into the hole in our faces and survive for another day otherwise nothing makes much sense. We need the motivation of PURPOSE, and a lot of the atheist outlooks tend to be a bit bleak, dismal and hopeless. By the way, the belief in some greater 'purpose' is also what regulates our impulses and inhibits us from spontaneously killing and eating each other, and without those regulatory inhibitions, civilization is impossible, so belief in god is fundamentally the same thing as belief in humankind, belief in civilization and belief in moral principle.

The answer is, "YES!" because He created the universe and all that is in it, including you and me. If you study your own body, you can see that it is "fearfully and wonderfully made". There is no way that it could have come about by sheer accident. A single cell in your body is more complex than a space shuttle, and a single strand of your DNA would fill enough volumes of the Encyclopedia Brittannica to fill the Grand Canyon 40 times over! It just boggles the mind! However, we can remain confident that He is a very just and loving God, in addition to being incredibly intelligent and powerful.
Yes, he will know when you are asking for things that are not right for you; God answers ALL prayers, and sometimes the answer is "NO." The best way to get around depression is to completely empty yourself of "self" - get rid of all prideful thoughts and attitudes - humble yourself. Feeling sorry for oneself is actually a form of pride, did you know that? There are two kinds of pride - The "I'm so great" form and the "Woe is me" form. Both get in the way of getting to know Christ. He can't come into our hearts and fill us up with the Holy Spirit until we first empty ourselves of "self"!
Also, humbling oneself doesn't mean putting yourself down, but it means acknowledging that the grace of Christ is sufficient.

The bible says that the holy spirit that endwells all believers communicates with the father on our behalf making known unto Him needs that we cannot communicate. God doesn't give us the things that are harmful to us... although sometimes we want them so badly that we force them upon ourselves only to regret our decision later. God will always look out for your best interests... even when it hurts us for a while. Some necessary lessons in life are painful.

sweetheart i am not a christian so cannot answer you in that way
but many things are going to be there for you , or in your thoughts that you have to face and deal with
many may say it is Satan and it is a test , i don't see it like that at all .. but never the less you are going to have to make your own decisions in life in many matters and God wont be the one making them for you
i really dont believe God is anything to fear at all ... but we are our own worst enemies at times and dont always make the right choices
but i see every choice made as a lesson in life , even if it wasn't the best one
please get some help for the depression and self harming , take personal responsibility for your own life
my love to you xx

There is nothing to be afraid of, I am NOT a bible basher, but I do believe in God and Heaven. I am not afraid of dying, the only thing I am scared of is HOW I am going to die. I am Not bothered when or where, in fact the sooner it comes, the better, that way I will see and be with my 19yr old daughter who died last November.
I long to see her again, but I am not going to do anything stupid, I have a lot more work to do on this earth, and she will know when it's my time to go, and I know that she will be waiting for me.

Fear of many modern-day hazards, has to be learned. Since young children are unaware of the dangers of electricity or city traffic, they can easily have a serious accident. Wise parents try to instill a wholesome fear in their offspring, warning them again and again of surrounding dangers. Parents know that this fear may well save their children’s life.
Jehovah has a similar concern for our well-being. As a loving Father, he teaches us through his Word and his organization to benefit ourselves. (Isaiah 48:17) Part of this divine teaching program involves warning us “again and again” about spiritual pitfalls so that we can develop a healthy fear of such danger. (2 Chronicles 36:15; 2 Peter 3:1)
“Fear the true God and keep his commandments. For this is the whole obligation of man.”—ECCLESIASTES 12:13.

Quite the opposite, when we fear God it is impossible to know him.
Yes, God does know when we ask for things that are not right for you and yes he does protect you from yourself, to some degree.
I think the most powerful prayer we can pray is to allow Gods will to be done.

When you pray, God will give you only what gives Him glory.
Ask Him to heal your depression. It is a demon that wishes to push God from you with doubt and "futility."
