unfortunately i find there are bullies everywhere - throughout the school days and now adult life. I sympathize entirely... I face bullies at my work.
The way i deal with it is first to realise that they want you to be bothered by their behaviour - so don't give them that pleasure!
Also retaliate, be strong and face them - tell them they are pathetic, ugly, fake, whatever, pick on their weakness and show complete resilience. Usually, if you show them you are stronger than they are, they will back off.

i feel that adult bullies prey on the weak.. they see a weakness and do what they KNOW they can get away with and then keep pushing a little further each time. I see it all the time at work, the people who let these people do this keep getting bullied.
I would say that you have to stand up for yourself, you have to do it with confidence also.... however is this person JUST a bullie or are they a flat out TROUBLE maker that will try and cause you trouble when you stand up for yourself... if so just be prepared to be able to deal with that also.
I would say if you are right about somthing then stand up for yourself and let the person flat out know that you wont put up with their behavior any longer and that your communication with them is over as of now.. then do it.
if if it just a hateful person and they have no grounds to be mad or acting the way they are .. again i would just let them know to get a life and stop acting like a child and you dont have time for their sill and sick personalty.. and then leave it at that.
I would say dont go off on them yell etc.. just be VERY VERY firm and confident and a little nasty about it

Stand up for yourself! tell this person that you are not going to accept their behaviour because you are an adult and are not going to be intimidated by some little sh*t who thinks they are better than you. Bullies are just that - Bullies who think they have the right to make you feel small when you KNOW that you don't have to accept this behaviour outside of school!
BE A STRONG ADULT!

You are an adult, and it is time for you to stand up for yourself. When you are a kid, it's not really your fault, but as an adult you are allowing it to happen. That parent is not setting a good example, and you are not, for letting it slide.
Be mature about the situation, and nip it in the bud, and if it gets serious (threats or physical contact) call the police immediately.
Good luck!

Tell them how it is, I'm sure like most of us, you got enough of that while you were in school... Don't take any crap off of anyone. You shouldn't have to. Set them straight.
