Precocious puberty is when a child begins to show signs of puberty at an unusually early age. What is considered precocious depends on the gender and race of the child; girls have a wider range of "normal" than boys do (they can show signs of puberty earlier or later and it's not abnormal), and blacks tend to enter puberty earlier than whites do. (The age range commonly listed for Caucasian girls is between 9-16 years; the range for Black girls is from 7-16 years. Boys are approximately two years behind this schedule, such that 10 years is the low range of normal.

There are several forms of this, depending upon degree and the signs exhibited; true precocious puberty is sometimes the result of a tumor of the pituitary gland, which is responsible for sending the hormonal signals that start the process of puberty. Sometimes it is constitutional, meaning it is not caused by any particular condition; sometimes it is genetic...early puberty (especially in girls) can run in families. Sometimes only one or a couple of signs of puberty show up (like advanced bone age, or the growth of sexual body hair, or menstruation or breast development); this is less likely to indicate problems. Some kinds of rare genetic syndromes affecting the endocrine glands (the source of hormones) can cause precocious puberty.

It is a condition where a child starts menstruating at too early an age, like 5 to 6 yrs old. It is a condition unheard of until documented by some pediatricians.
There are some studies that link the condition to the ingestion of too much estrogen. Further stories link these sources to plastics in juice containers etc. I dont think they have been proven . Nevertheless the manufacturing of plastic containers may have been better monitored since then.
The other sources of estrogen are in livestock feed to make them bigger and bulkier, so it can alsoo come from milk and meat.
These happenings started the organic movement of the 90s. I thoguht everyone heard of it.

It's when young (like maybe age 7) girls begin developing breasts, and showing other signs of puberty.

It is generally addressed by adjusting hormone levels in the girl, either thru diet (going to organic stuff that is missing the added hormones), or medication.
