I was in the same boat as you. My parents were really strict when I was growing up. By the time I was 13, all of my friends were wearing eye liner except for me. I didn't start wearing make-up until I was about 17 or 18, but I didn't mind so much because after awhile, my friends couldn't go without makeup. They all looked pale without it.

I didn't push the issue and one day I just started to wear makeup and my parents didn't say anything.

Don't try and rush to look older because once your youth is gone, you'll want to look younger. Funny, but true.

Good luck!

I think that if you're 14 y/o and your mom lets you wear ANY makeup at all you should feel grateful. How many kids do you know in school whose mothers don't let them wear any at all? My mom wouldn't let me wear mascara until I was 16. When I was 14 I was allowed eye shadow, foundation, powder, and lip gloss. And I was much luckier than some of my friends who weren't allowed anyhting at all or just powder or just lip gloss.

Start off by negotiation, with eye shadow or something (not too up on make-up as I'm a male, but it's the theory that counts), then build up from there. Then get her to show you how to apply it properly so you don't look like a tart.

Eyeliner does look bad if you are wearing alot of other heavy make up. Ask her if you can get some nice dark brown eyeliner if you promise not to put it on too heavy.

Seriously, don't push the issue! You have years ahead of needing make up to cover bags and blemish spots and actually looking for a man lol! Be natural and be a teenager!

Put some on in the way you intend to wear it. And then show her that it isn't to drastic and promise this is how you are going to wear it. It worked with my parents.
