everyone working in a restaurant is illegal? Every field or construction worker? Lately it seems alot of people just assume that because you are either a non-white or has a foreign accent that the person is illegal. So many questions, like "If you go to a restaurant you will ALWAYS be served by an illegal."
Illegals are though to represent 2-3% of the entire U.S population, do you actually think they could fill every single laborer type position in this country. Honestly. Just because someone is hispanic or Asian and might have an accent does not mean they are illegal!!

Since when does "foreign born," mean illegal? Aren't naturalized immigrants foreign born as well?

You are so right!! So a person cannot say illegals serve them, illegals helped build their house, illegals did their landscaping. How do you know if you didn't go up and ask for proof. How many people are going to do that just because someone is foreign 'looking' or has an accent? That would be an invasion of privacy unless you had the authority to ask, such as hiring them or renting to them, etc. If they turned out to be citizens (legally) they could be very offended. How would any other citizen like having to show proof to every person who decided to ask them? That would be uncivilized not to mention crude & rude.

If you think about it, with 300 million residents and 20 million illegals included, 15% are actually illegal. And I do not discriminate. I don't look at a Hispanic person on the sidewalk and think, 'Oh, he's an illegal.' And I definitely don't believe every waiter or construction worker is an illegal. Thankfully true Americans still have the jobs that are rightfully theirs (and yes, I do consider a legal immigrant a true American).

That Equals 4 Percent Unemployment Nationwide (Reported)
Lets Do The Math
Deport 20 Million ILLEGAL ALIENS

No I dont always assume life has taught me that assuming only makes an A** out of you. But i will say I agree I was wondering how people know someone is Illegal or not but I didnt want to ask because if you ask any question on here its seems you get called dumb or unintelligent when I thought thats what this site was for to ask questions about things you dont understand! oh well.

Though I've heard nothing of the like, I understand what you mean. I do not assume that. It's completely idiotic. Who believes that? That's just stereotyping. An accent means nothing. There are Americans with European accents and they aren't deemed illegal. Why is it any different when a person has an accent that is indicative of a Spanish, or an Asiatic or a Middle Eastern tongue? You've got a good point there.

I think we should fill those jobs you speak of with Americans paid a fair living wage before the foreign illegal aliens kill us all with disease!
DISEASED ILLEGAL ALIENS!
Excerpt:
A deadly Pennsylvania hepatitis outbreak has spread panic among many residents of the area. ''More than 500 people got sick and three have died from a hepatitis outbreak.
In light of the hepatitis A outbreak from a Center Township restaurant, the virus has been identified as the 'Mexican Strain.' '' Health officials reported, ''Workers may have contaminated food by failure to follow basic hygiene in cleaning hands after using the bathroom.''

Only Bunt thinks that.
Those of us who are citizens or here legally don't.
However, my confidence that workers in food industries were health screened has been badly shaken by this whole illegal immigration thing (I was naive about how many there were before the May marches.) So it does impact my restraunt choices. Not entirely, since I love Chinese food, but I generally go where I know the owners, now.

I don't think about it either way. I don't really care, as long as they're doing a good job then I don't see why it should matter. I don't approve of illegal immigration, but for those who are here, right now, working, it doesn't bother me.

I do not look at a person and try to judge if they are legal or not. The thought actually never crosses my mind.
