brittnee...take her for a long walk before you leave her. have you enrolled in obedience classes any where? i am a dog behaviorist, honey, and a dog doesn't do that to you if you're the pack leader. she is manipulating you. take her for a real hard, fast run/walk/bike/rollerblading session before you leave her. your choice of equipment and style!!!! :) wear her out and she won't have the energy to do it. if she is under-stimulated, then it's your responsibility to make sure she gets fulfilled. get cesar milan's book "cesar's way" and it will help you a lot. are you POSITIVE she barks the whole time? also, try leaving her with a filled kong toy. go to kongtoys.com. if that isn't the correct website (sorry) type in a search for kong toy and go to thier main website. fillling it with treats and food for her when you leave gives her the idea that you leaving is ok, not scary. it also occupies her mouth and a dog with a mouthfuil of food and peanut butter can't bark!!! :) seriously, though, you need to exercise her more and provide her with more stimulation.

First of all a weimaraner is a breed that should only be owned by experienced dog owners because they can be quite head strong. They need a great deal of exercise, they are hunting dogs after all and accustomed to being very active. This dog sounds like she needs a great deal more exercise than she's getting. If she's tired out, both physically and mentally through some obedience work, agility, something to occupy her mind, she'd be more content to be kenneled when necessary.

When I adopted my Maggie last April, she had severe separation anxiety. That was the reason she was put up for adoption. The vet put her on Clomicalm (an anti-depressant) and within 4 days, she stopped the hysterics, paw licking and constant following. She is a wonderful dog and happy to be alive.
