I think if it is a good friend you are telling, it really shouldn't matter. That's what a good friend is, accepting someone for their flaws because they love the good attributes as well. We all have flaws so don't stress too much.
Having someone you trust to confide in can also be a weight off your shoulders.

I assume you are talking about yourself??
Well, to be honest : if you do such a thing, that would make you a liar, and by the way you put your question I think I can tell you figured that out for yourself already, and are not feeling too comfortable with it.
Maybe you feel you're not interesting enough, or not funny enough, or even boring, if you just tell the truth about yourself and your life, hence the fact you're making up parts of your life to impress your friend.
It may work for a while, but once your friend gets to know you better, and meets maybe members of your family, or other friends you have......the truth is bound to come out one day!!
Why not tell your friend what your life is really about? It would save you from having to remember the lies you've told already, it would save you from being scared when you suddenly forget a lie you told, thus having to desperately think of a solution to that......and best part of it all : it would be so much easier if you justt tell the truth....always.
Hope this helps.

Depends on what you're lying about, contrary to popular opinion honesty is not always the best policy. So before you even concern yourself with it decide whether its either something they even need to know or something you really want them to know. Without more info that's all I can say.

Tell the truth. Then try to move on and see if you're still friends. If not, just try to let it go.
