It is called a funny bone because everyone else thinks it funny...
Haven’t you ever noticed say you fall down they will make sure your ok then laugh. With the funny bone there is no making sure your ok they just go straight to the laughing.
And that my friend is why it is called a funny bone.

Usually when you hit it, you usually find yourself hopping from one foot to the other and very rarely scream out in agony. And though it hurts like mad you could end up laughing almost to tears as everyone else will be laughing when you tell them you have just hit your funny bone. Funny old world eh!

The tingles feel funny but, I think it is more likely to be known as the 'funny bone because its anatomical name is the Humerus which sounds like humorous

Because the name of the bone in your upper arm is called the humerus. It isn't really funny, when you hit it, it feels weird & can hurt.

The pain is due to injury to the ulnar nerve as it rounds the elbow.
Funny bone--who cares what it is termed.
