Some beauty supply stores have this tool, it's like a little comb (or pick) only it has "wires" instead of plastic teeth - it works great. Be gentle when doing it and make sure to spray it well when you are finished.

you take a strip of hair and pull it up over ya head making sure its straight and comb down and keep doing it until its fluffy and the hair on top stays straight use a little hairspray and it stays like that

take hair on the top of your head in 2 inch sections...hold hair close to the ends with one hand...use a teasing comb, or a fine toothed comb..and run it down the back side of the hair you are holding, from the top(closest to your hand) to the scalp...repeat until its kinda a tight 'knot'...repeat for how much you need, depending on the size of your head...

Brush the hair in front of the teasing lightly over the teased portion...use a light aerosol hairspray to keep it in place

It isn't how you comb your hair but the product you use. You some volumizing shampoo and condition as well as moose or gel. just apply and lift your hair to get air caught in it.

I wouldn't back comb hair......... it causes it to get very tangled and unknotting it causes split ends and tears! :(
