good will salvation army look on craigslist.com or yellow pages fro local thrift shops charitable ones often get nicer stuff
newspaper and craigslist for garage sales if not in a hurry. cheap fun on the weekends.

ikea cheap new things. and look at Sunday sales in local papers before purchases things cycle so wait fro it to come on sale if you can .

Have you ever actually seen the furniture from IKEA? It looks more like dorm room furniture with a really short life span. Even the stuff from Wal-mart looks more structurally intact. Try Weekends Furniture, garage sales, junk/antique stores. Also, if you go to the flea markets at least you can haggle a better price. Also check out Ashley's Furniture.

Do you have any rent to own places in your area?? Rent-A-Center, Aaron's, etc. I know in Oregon where my mom, step dad, dad & in-laws live there is a McMahan's furniture. They have good looking stuff that isn't high end but functional........
