Jews and Muslims consume beef, veal, mutton, lamb and poultry, slaughtered under the religious laws of slaughter. Halāl (Arabic: حلال) is the term for permissible in Islam.
The Shariah term for halāl slaughtering is dhakat. Dhakat in Arabic comes from the root idea of making something become good in smell and taste, and making it complete. Dhakat thus means: "to slaughter an animal in such a way as to make it smell and taste good, because slaughtering releases the blood, enabling the meat to dry faster." (Al Qurtubi V6 / P52) The cut made for Jewish and Muslim slaughter is a transverse cut across the neck to sever the major blood vessels. The animal must be healthy with no injury otherwise the meat is not acceptable and cannot be eaten. After the cut to the throat, the animal is shackled by a hind leg and hoisted to continue the bleeding-out process. Once the animal is dead, an incision is made through the abdominal wall and adjacent diaphragm and the inspector checks for signs of abnormality. An animal slaughtered in this fashion is dhabihah (Arabic: ذَبِيْحَة).
The halal laws of Islam are less restrictive than the kosher foods of Judaism except Jews may use growth hormones to raise cattle and may use alcohol. Meat is the only regulated of the food groups. Haraam (Arabic: حرام prohibited) foods include blood, pork, and the meat of dead animals or those immolated to other than Allah. It is also required that the halal animals be slaughtered while pronouncing the name of Allah at the time of slaughter (tasmiyah).
According to the current Islamic thinking, the following are considered Najis and therefore Haram (unlawful, prohibited):
Swine including all by-products.
Insects considered ugly or filthy such as worms, lice, flies, etc.
Animals with fangs such as tigers, lions, cats etc,
Birds that have talons with which they catch their prey such as owls, eagles, etc.
Animals which Islam encourages to kill such as scorpions, centipedes, rats etc,
Dogs
Animals which Islam forbids to kill such as bees etc.
Animals which have toxins, poisons or produce ill effects when eaten such as some fish etc.
Amphibian animals such as crocodiles, turtles, frogs etc.
Meat (limbs, tails etc.) which have been cut from a live animal.
Lawful animals not slaughtered according to Islamic rites. (Fish is exempt from slaughtering).
Carrion or dead animals.
In Judaism the dietary laws are called kosher/kashrut (Hebrew: כַּשְרוּת) laws and are similar to the laws for halah foods.

it is described in HADEETHS (saying of prophet and Imams, and it is of three kinds,
1. birds, who don't catch things in their paw while eating.
2. fishes, all kinds who live permanent in water, but there is a slight different opinion in four IMAMS.
3. animals, those who don't have their upper teeth in thee jaws.
birds and animals must be alive while slaughtering (ZIBAH)
and fishes should be fresh cached from water, i mean not dead while cached from water.
that's all i know.
