not all christians are the same. i love shakespear, harry potter, and lord of the rings. some christians just do not understand that they according to Christ are forgiven not better than anyone else Christ himself did not hang out with the so called good guys. Christ accepted people for who they were and where they were at. He even pointed out to those who were to stone a woman for breaking the mosaic law that they were just as sinful as she. i am a christian but more than that i believe that Christ's message was to Love All People regardless of differences

I would have to agree that there is a lot of false alarmism concerning Lord of the rings and harry potter, I have read the Potter books and see nothing but harmless fantasy writing. No worse than the Tales of King Arthur seeking help from the Wizard Merlin, stop giving the Devil so much credit people

I understand your feeling, But you must also understand the feeling of the religious community. Now I know that you may not want to hear this. But what Harry Potter and The Lord Of The Rings represent Does go totally against what the bible states and I do mean totally. Now I am not saying that you have to find this acceptable. But this is America and people do have the rights to freedom of speech And the freedom to worship as they see fit to.. Now another truth is that the Harry Potter series is making a lot of money for a lot of people and In this country where money rule the day and not God as it should be. So I don't thing Harry Potter is going anywhere soon. So sit back and relax and enjoy your Harry Potters movies........................

oh and Mary Poppins, Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe, Tom Sawyer, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty ... well Grimm's Fairy tales in general and all Disney adaptations thereof ... should, in fact, ban most movies and burn 1/2 the public library so as to not offend the easily offended Christians.
but a hasty preemptive war based on lies that kills 100s of thousands people, trashing the environment for profit, taking from the poor to give to the rich, imprisonment without due process and legalized torture, the GOP hiding pedophiles in Congress and being called "nuts, "ridiculous, "and just plain goofy" by their government officials ... these things don't offend American Christians.
but wave a plastic magic wand and all hell breaks loose.
PS. oh yeah. Sponge Bob and Tinky Winky are bound for eternal damnation for being gay.

Most people that believe magic is evil aren't intelligent enough to understand Shakespeare.

To late, he's been on their list for years. Along with many other great authors. If they ever find out about his homosexual poems, I imagine they begin holding some good old fashion book burnings. Which reminds me, I need to order Geography Club that latest book to make their banned book list.

No because Shakespear does not attempt to cast magic or soccery in a positive light...

Please don't give them any ideas. There was actually some idiot in the Texas legislature that wanted all books written by gay authors removed from school libraries. Ignorance knows no bounds.
