I think what has to be appreciated is that no, they do not realize they will be held accountable. If a person, through no fault of their own, has not been able to be brought to the conclusion that there is a God, or has been harmed enough by religious people that they cannot overcome that obstacle.... then, for such people, the relationship with God is not there. They don't feel as though there's anyone up there for them at all, so how can they take it a step further and worry about accountability?
The job of a follower of God is to be that shining city on the hill. Only by being an example of light, shining a beacon of hope, will the broken people in the world realize that we aren't alone, and that a well of compassion and healing, life giving water, is there for anyone who seeks it.
God is not a monster. We don't need to threaten people into belief.
We need to love them into it.

Are you the one that hangs out on the street corner shouting verses from the Bible? Seems like if we are all to believe in your God then we are doomed to a life of living under a dictatorship. Or are we just lab rats in a gigantic experiment concoted by God to see how we deal with the fact that, according to the Bible, we were given free will, but we must be very careful of everything we say because we're going to be judged in the end? Shouldn't there be some ounce of leniency? I mean, Jesus Christ!! Oops, look at that, I'm going to hell. Might as well pack my bags. Oh, that's right, I can't have bags, I'm supposed to be living humbly. Can't I at least put on a clen pair of underwear? I'm sure St. Peter will take into account the fact that I'm wearing clean underwear and give me some credit for that when I arrive at the pearly gates.

Everyone has their own personal beliefs. Whether they agree with you or not, that is their right. You choose to believe what you do, so let others do so as well. If you try to impose your beliefs on someone else, you are, in effect no less guilty than the people who go to war over religion. See how well that has worked out so far in our world's history.

Is this a meditation, rhetorical question, or your view? I am lost on this. How do you know for sure? What qualifies you to be the GODSPERT? I believe in a higher power but im ridding this out doing what i think is right and that does not include what a man said 100000's of years ago. I don't smite and throw stones at people I love.

Accountable to whom? The religious police? Get a grip. By the way, no one is mocking or making fun of your 'god'. Stop pushing your dogma on others.

"i know this will anger some of you at me bu just to sit back and not say anything makes me just as guilty"
I agree. But, I am coming from the other side. If I sit back an let you spew your God nonesense without a rebuttal, then I am guilty of allowing your misguided assertions to infect others.

Most of the ones making fun of god are probably also the ones who know that he doesn't exist. If the believed in god but were doing it anyway... well they're either dumb as a box of rocks or have balls the size of volkswagens. Either way, they're lucky there is no god.

I do not beieve in God. however, if I was to die and find out that God existed, and I was able to speak with him and justify my disbelief, I would tell (him, her, it, whatever) "While on Earth, everywhere I looked, all I could see was people killing each other in your name. I figured it was better to be a good HUMAN BEING, than to identify myself with an organized religion, all of which have murdered, raped, and stolen in your name". I think God would like that. But the truth is you just rot in the ground.

I won`t argue with you because that is something that you truly believe, and I hope for as long as it makes you happy, you will continue to believe. I on the other hand do not believe in God. I have no disrespect for your God, but for me he dose not exist. I am a scientist and I have no need of any artificial `props` to my life.I believe that we make our own heaven and hell in this life, on this earth. I have no fear of death( or of retribution of any kind)
