this morning i was eating breakfast at a diner and a couple who weren't talkin much was sitting next to me. the guy was breaking up with the girl in a DINER! she was crying and i felt helpless.
should i have done something? what would you have done?

It's very sweet that you sympathized with the girl but unfortunately there's really nothing we can do in these instances. Yesterday morning on the way to work there was this woman yelling at her child and it took all of my strenghth not to tell her to shut up and leave him alone. I felt really bad for the kid too. I firmly believe in what goes around comes around so I leave it up to God.

Thats sad but time heals all wounds and she'll be glad someday...he did her a favor. And the only time I feel helpless is when my kids hurt and there is nothing I can do. Being a parent you feel helpless a lot.

Aww! That's so sad and SO shallow! You couldn't have done anything though, if you tried to comfort her she would flip out because obviously she is an emotional wreck. Thats sad, but there's really nothing you could've done.

I would have done nothing, it would have been none of my business. I think if he would have left the table...then I would have went to the girl and asked her if there was anything she needed/ was she ok?

oh not cool of that guy to dump her in such a public place! how awful for her, that guy should rot!
no, you should not have done anything cause it wasnt your place. unless if he got up and left her, you could have moved over and asked if anything was wrong.
but i dont think there was really wnything that you could have done...
wow, the nerve of that guy!

There is not much you could of done. Maybe after he left & she was sitting there by herself I would of maybe tried to comfort her & ask her was she going to be ok?

yeah you could of asked the waitress to 'accidentally' spill hot coffee on his crotch area,lol ;0)
