at school this girl said she has three and she will sell one of them to me for 20 dollars thats cheap i know but she said i needed a software or something how do i do that she said i can download it if so tell how, when, why how much, what website

You will need iPod Software Updater on your computer. That will allow you to reset the iPod to new and load your own music.

i would buy it, chances are taht you could get the software (if you even need it, which is unlikely) from an Apple store, or online, although I do not know where to look. It's only $20...
Also, you could try plugging the iPod in and hitting the restore button in iTunes. The only problem with that is that iTunes won't recognize the ipod unless it's on...
just try it out; if it doesnt work, take it to the apple store.

If you're talking about iTunes, then that's free and can be found at www.itunes.com. If its the driver ask either her or someone else with an iPod just like this one if you can borrow their driver disk.

the ipod update disk is part of itunes which you can download off apple. ebay would be the best way to get it.

no you cant download software but u might make some good money if you sell them on ebay.com
