I know how to say "Spanish-speaking people" in Spanish: la gente hispanohablante. How do you say/spell English-speaking? inglesahablante? I'm not sure. Thanks.

I already thought of gringo, but that's a little rude, don't you think? And unprofessional.

The good answer; anglófonos. That's the proper word. Also, angloparlante.

But people would rather say "de habla inglesa".

Here's a tip: When you are not sure if a Spanish word is correct, check the dictionary of the Royal Spanish Academy (RSA). As you may know, the RSA is the authority of the Spanish Language. Any word that is not accepted by the academy is not considered standard.

The word you're looking for is: "angloparlante". "Anglohablante" is also accepted.

I'm including the definition according to the RSA:

ANGLOPARLANTE, ANGLOHABLANTE. adj. Que tiene el inglés como lengua materna o propia. Apl. a pers., u. t. c. s. (adj. Having English as its language or mother tongue. Applies to persons. Used Also As A Noun).

"de habla inglesa"

I've always thought that "hispanohablante" was a weird term, because "hispano" describes the ethnicity or cultural heritage of of the people, not the language that they speak. So I usually say "de habla española" too.

By the way, "habla" is a feminine word, so "inglesa" agrees with it, not "inglés". However, when you use an article in front of "habla", you should use "el" or "un", to avoid having two "a" sounds in a row, I guess. There are a number of nouns starting with "a" sounds that do this.

You are asking how do you say English-speaking in Spanish? In Spanish you say, "Habla-Ingles"? And in Spanish-speaking people is .Habla-espanol. Which is not hard to remember, the next time you want to ask, either English or Spanish people this question.

The correct term in spanish for an english speaker is "Angloparlante" Just like "Hispanoparlante" or "Francoparlante" (french speaker). The rest are just funny names and aproximations.
