Has anyone that is an identical twin been seperated before?

I have an identical twin sister. When we were little we really only had each other. My father was never there and my mother always had to work. But just a about three years ago, she went in the way wrong path in her life. She left her husband, and 2 children. I love her kids just like they were my own. She has an addiction to pain killers and alchol. I am so lucky that I do not have any addictions. Our father was an alcholic, so it runs in the family. She ended up with the wrong people, I tried and tried to help her. She became homeless, no money, no job, she has nothing. She started to run around with the wrong people, she would get beat up and ect. just a lifestlye that I had no clue about. I would help her and help her to see if she could get her stuff together, I thought if anyone could it would be me I'm her twin. Well, she ended up in jail. She has been in and out of jail and now she is in prison. I dont know her anymore, and I'm so lost without my best friend. HELP
