1.) wash your hair. thoroughly rinse the conditioner out or you will weigh your hair down.
2.) towel dry and comb it, do not brush.
3.)put a product in, this depends on what kind of hair you have too. I have frizzy/curly/wavy hair so i use a SMALL amount of defriz (john frida sucks) and curl gel or mousse (sexycurls (i think it's called that) works the best.) don't use too much, or too little
4.) gently comb again so the product is spread through your hair.
5.) now, flip your head upside down. take your hands and cup sections at random all the way to your roots.
6.) take some more mousse or gel (small amount) rub your hands together.
7.) flip your head again and use the gel on your hands to "finish" the scrunch.
8.) put a diffuser on your blowdryer.
9.) flip head again (i know you're dizzy!!) and blow dry up. repeat step 5 while blow drying.
10.) finish with a light spritz of hair spray. hold the can 6in-1ft away.

DO NOT BRUSH YOUR HAIR!!!!!!!!!

Have you been doing it wet? if not, try wetting your hair until its dripping wet. Dab ends with towel and make sure you do not dry the ends but simply just don't have them dripping anymore. then put a hardening hair gel that is a strong one at that in and scrunch your hair, continue to do this several times, then get strong hold, hardening hair spray and spray while scrunching. It works best if you have the hairspray dripping too. This doesn't damage your hair or make it difficult for the products to come out. I have very difficult hair and have a hard time scrunching as well, this is the way that has been best for me. Hope this helped! (:

It's better to use a towel not your hands, as I have found to be the case. You get a wavier look, with hands it's usually more kinks. Dry your hair as you would with a towel, then put it back over your head and scrunch all over, like you're squeezing it with most of your might, not all. When you've done your whole head take the towel off, get some mousse as it's lighter than gel and start scrunching in your hair like you did when you were scrunching it with the towel. You can finish off with a little hairspray for a better hold, but this is a crunchy/wet look, if that's what you're going for.

there are certain hair products that are for hair scrunching. aussie and some other brands have this. if u dont have time or can buy it, try another gel or mousse that u do have. put it in ur hair them grab a handful of hair "runch" it up. when u scrunch the hair together, there will be waves.
