Have you signed up with the Telephone Preference Service? Since I signed up with them, the calls have pretty much stopped.

I also opted not to have my number in the phone book which may have helped.

I know they're a pain in the **** so good luck getting rid of them!

tell them you have AIDS and/or ADD and/or ADHD and start rambling off about something completely random to the thing they're trying to sell. Or you could pretend to be an old lady who can't hear. Or you could use a soundboard from www.ebaumsworld.com and pretend you're homer simpson or some other random tv character. Or pretend you're high on a drug of your choice (if you don't know any, crack and marajuana are good ones to use). Or you could be an old man who's "hip and groovy" like the kids these days. Or you could pretend you're a drunk and start asking about an alchoholic center. Or you cuold randomly ramble off on some made-up story. The more funny, the better (especially if you can keep a straight face). Also, you cuold try trying to sell THEM a product that rivals their product and get into an argument about which is better.

Overall, Iwouldn't get on teh do not call list cuz telemarketers are too much fun.

the ways to get rid of them are limited only by your imagination and creativity.

The donotcall list has a couple of loopholes:
* If you're already a customer, a company can call you about additional crap.
* Political appointees can call
* Non-profits can call. This one is used most extensively as the loophole. If a profit company can find any excuse to be using a non-profit caller, they will.

It's back to Caller ID, just hanging up, or screening with an old-fashioned message recorder.

in hardship-free words different aspect you may want to do is get a Caller id exhibit and do not answer it in case you do not realize the form or substitute your form each and every so regularly that's inconvenient. . some call centres are damaging about holding their database up as a lot as now and some do not even well known the TPS database (e.g. Sanjay in Mumbai). i have in hardship-free words had some calls sneak through in a three hundred and sixty 5 days and asking them "Are you acquainted with the phone determination service" makes them bypass away all apologetic. worry is maximum of their chilly call diallers are computerised that's why you get calls which have finished silence firstly till now one among their "human robots" (operatives) alternatives it up.

I take it by cold callers you mean the sellers. Well what we do in our house is pick up the phone and as soon as we know its a call centre we tell them we are in the middle of having sex, could they please ring back. That works every time. They just put the phone down instead of saying 'Ha but', 'could you just listen for a few minutes'.
Try it, its fun.

Depends on what they are selling....whatever it is, you already have it, or you own a business that does the same thing, you already have a subscription etc. If all else fails, ask them to hang on a sec, and then just put the phone down & walk away. They will hang for a time waiting (which means they can't call anyone else). When the phone starts squaking, just go hang it up.

You can register with the Telephone Preference Service and then no-one can phone you if they are selling anything which stops most calls. For the remainder, my friend used to say that it was voilating the terms of her parole talking to people on the phone and found that did the trick!!

When you're on the national do not call list & some braying jacka$$ still calls you-just lay the phone down & let them ramble and they'll hang up.Do it everytime they call, sometimes they can't hang up until you do so make them sweat. I leave mine off hook for hour or longer when they call.And if I'm in a real good mood I start ripping off to them in pig-latin and they hang up cussing.

In the UK you can register free with TPS online which takes your details off the data base so they can't call you. I joined last year and all calls stopped after about 3 weeks!
