20 min. away is not long distance you can still see eachother on a daily basis.
long distance is like different city, state or country
that just really depends on the relationship and the people I guess if people are willing to sacrifice and make it work but then it also depends on time how long will you be apart a few weeks few months few years or is this permanent a few weeks yeah most likely you can survive a few months depends on the relationship how far apart are you how often will you see eachother how long have you been together a few years that's definetly difficult probably not but again it depends on the people and situation.
AGAIN 20 MIN IS NOT LONG DISTANCE. . . UNLESS you don't have a car because you're like 15 and in that case get over it you'reyoung you'll live.

WTF 20 mins? by car? that aint a LDR
LDR is when the other person is 1000-3000 miles away. Hardly see each other, only talk on the phone/e-mail, once in awhile send gifts/pictures, thinking if the other person is being faithful to the relationship (Is she cheating on me?), LDR is waiting for that BIG day of finally reuniting with her/him.
Anyway LDR would only work if the couple trust each other seriously. It's pretty hard to not date someone who is not there, and to not date just because you are taken already from someone who isn't there. First thing you have to ask each other is how long will this be Long Distance? If it seems forever then forget it...just be friends, but if its only for school or whatever then someday you two will be much more nearer, depends on the level of faithfulness on each person, question is....who will snap out of it first?

20 minutes isn't bad at all. But I would say that true long distance relationships rarely work.

i dont know if that really long distance. i'd say relationships in general have a hard time working, so the distance can't be helping any. but you might be able to make it work. it just make it harder to keep an eye on the guy.

HOW is that long distance? That is like in the same city! ANY relationship can work if you are both committed to it. My husband and I were 11,000 miles apart and survived!

i would say yes, if both parties are really willing to make it work. take me and my girlfriend for example, she lives in georgia and i in alabama. we live approximately 3 hours apart, so we don't see one another that much. but we keep in contact through internet and phone. so if both parties are willing to work on the relationship and make it work, then yes it can work. my g/f and i have been together a yr. and a half now, and are very happy with one another.
