It might not be "cool" to think about death, but it is not realistic. It's no accident that the world's greatest literature and philosophy deal with the fact that some day our lives will come to an end. Death is inevitable, and to deny it or ignore it is tragic.

But when we know Christ, death no longer grips us with fear—and the reason is because Jesus Christ has conquered death! How did He do this? He did it first of all by dying on the cross to take away our sins. You see, death came into the world because we have rebelled against God—which is what the Bible calls sin.

But by His death and resurrection Christ broke the chains of sin and death. We don't need to fear death any longer, because Christ has overcome it! The Bible says, "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 6:23).

I invite you to receive that gift right now by asking Christ to come into your life as your Lord and Savior. God loves you, and He does not want you to spend eternity separated from Him. Open your heart and life to Christ—and when you do, God will not only forgive your sins but He will adopt you into His family forever. Once you know Christ, you have "an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade—kept in heaven for you" (1 Peter 1:4).

I think it's natural to be scared of death. I had the same exact feeling starting about two months ago. It's a part of life...no matter what you do there is no fighting the inevitable. The thing is that you can't let those thoughts rule your life, otherwise you'll never live life to it's fullest and will always be depressed. Take it one day at a time.

Wow.... you must be young. We are animals, born with an instinct to survive. As you get old, your body will start to wear out and you will no longer fear death. It is just the dying part that is kinda scary anyway. It'll just be like a sleepless dream. A nice long sleepless dream where you don't have to wake up and deal with any problems or troubles. Have a happy death... when you finally go.

the fear of death is a very common fear. I can't think of a single person whom at some point in their lives was not afraid of death. The point is we will all die some day. However you can't live you life beased upon this fear. YOu need to live life for today nobody is promised tomorrow.

Being that I am a Christian I have a lot of comfort in knowing that one day I will goto Heaven. This doesn't comfoft thoose that are not Christians. If it is effecting your daily life you may want to seek coucling, or a Pastor.

Good luck.

"There is nothing to fear, but fear itself" That's a great quote. You should remember it. But, don't worry. Almost everyone thinks about what will happen when they die at some point. It's natural to have a fear of this. All you can do is accept it, and live your live the best you can. All things must come to an end, and that's why you should just go out and have fun. I bet live a long happy life. =)

Don't worry dOna. If you are young now due to modern technology and medicines there is a good chance you will live till you are over 100 years old. At a guess you will then be dying (no pun intentional) to go.

There is so much more after we die. If you are a christian then you have no reason to fear Death. Just think you die once and then no more pain or sickness your new body will not fail you! no more hunger or wants of any kind wow that sounds great to me!

Don't be. Why the fear of death is irrational:

If an afterlife exists, you just go there. It's a gain.

If an afterlife doesn't exist, you won't be around to experience it. That might seem frightening, but you won't exist to BE frightened. So there's no gain or loss.

Either way, you have everything to gain and nothing to lose.

Why should you be afraid of the inevitable? It happens to us all, and in all probability, not for a very long time. Instead of dreading what you cannot control, embrace the beauty of each day, live it like it's your very last, and hold onto the hopes of many more tomorrows.
