When you have 'lost your mind' sometimes you think it would be better to lose your life because the suffering is so painful.
But at this time, because your mind is not working properly, the decision to lose your life is not rational, it's more an emotional response.

The fact is that your mind can and does come back, but your life will not.

So anyone in this position......hang in there. You are stronger than you know.

There are family, friends, doctors and therapist to help save your mind. Losing your life isn't a good alternative, things will get better, just give it a chance. Seek help, think about all the people that would be hurting, if in fact you lost your life.

I've already lost my mind (so it seems anyway) and I'm still here and able to answer these questions. Says a lot doesn't it? As far as my life, I've left that up to GOD as if it was up to me, I might not be here right now, lost mind and all. I've thought about the quietness and calm of being no more, without pain, sorrow and a broken heart all at once. I'm not feeling sorry for myself, but it's not been easy with the cross I've been bearing lately.Only thing is, it's not my perogative, it's GOD's. So here I be........

This might be a time for comedy...

Jack Benny use to have a routine - and the main line was a robber comes up to him and says, 'Your money or your life."

Jack Benny would stand there with one hand holding an elbow, and the other hand on his face. Not saying a word.

The robber would say, "Come on, wait's taking you so long?"

And Jack Benny would reply, "I'm thinking, I'm thinking."

Point is - there is only one answer to this question -- and that is life. If you have lost your mind there are many professionals out there (and friends, family, clergy, etc) who will gladly help you find it again.

I'd prefer neither but if I have to choose, I'd rather lose my life. My mind defines who I am and if I go through life without recognizing my loved ones, I'd be hurting them. I wouldn't be able to handle that.

I would rather lose my life then my mind. Your mind gives you everything to live life to the fullest without it, you would have nothing...
