In California they will do it up until 24 weeks. Your insurance will cover the whole cost too. I think that's sick since I work with premature babies and have worked with a couple babies born at 23 weeks.

Hey, people!
This poster didn't say she was pregnant nor considering an abortion. Lighten up on your self-righteous attitude!
Usually, abortions are ok up to the end of the first trimester (12 weeks).
If you are considering an abortion, do what is best for you. Think about how you might feel in a few years about this decision - one way or the other. Are you ready for a baby? Could you deal with knowing your child was out there adopted by strangers? Would you ever regret having the abortion?
You've got to do what is best for you.

The first trimester (up to 12 weeks) is a general D & C type procedure. After 12 weeks, you would need a 2 part procedure. Thin bamboo called lamanaria rods, are placed in the cervix in order to help expand it. It's a 2 day procedure. Once the rods are placed, you go home and then come back another day for the procedure. There is also saline, (up to 24 weeks) which creates a miscarriage, and you deliver a dead fetus. Of course, there is always adoption.

It depends on your state. In Fl it is around 20 weeks. But be warned the longer you wait the more dangers and costly it becomes.
Also there are other programs out there. I know my friend gave her son up for adoption and the family that adopted him paid her medical and some of her other bills to help. There are so many women out there who can not have children that want one...
But the best thing to do is look up your state and its guide lines. You can also call a clinic located near you to ask them you don't have to tell them your name or anything.
Wish you the best of luck.

I believe 20 weeks, or some where in there. After that its considered infancide since the child has a possibility of survival outside the womb.

It is 12 weeks, unless there is a medical reason why it could be performed later.

Where I live it's up to four months.
But really, if you've stuck with the baby this long, how could you possibly go through with it?

Please don't abort your baby. Give it up for adoption so a couple that cannot have children can raise and love it.
