So I'm an old skool guy, and like to keep it fresh with a hi-top fade, but is this going to preclude me from getting a girlfriend? (link to photo below)

It looks good. I would say cut it a little shorter though and grow your sides just a little bit. A fade would be when the longer hair on top fades into the shorter hair on the sides, yours isn't doing this a whole lot, so I think if you did have the sides just a tad longer it would look even better. I don't think it'll stop you from attracting a girlfriend though, unless she's the type that goes for looks over personality. Just from your photo you look like you have a good personality.

I think that if you are out to impress the girls and be up to date with the fashion - go get a hair cut. Nothing drastic just make the top shorter. Your style is very close to how all the guys are wearing their hair these days anyway.
And maybe try finding yourself a girl that will like you for being a great person and not just by how you your hair looks.

I'm not big on the haircut BUT I don't think it will keep you from getting a girlfriend. I mean, if a girl doesn't want to go out with you because she doesn't like your hair, she's probably not worth it anyway.
If you like this hair then you should keep it - that's what defines you!

Give it a few weeks,then trim the top,but not the sides.It really dosn't matter what other people think though,if you like it keep it like that. I don't judge people on their hair anyways. I'm old school to so I'm feeling you. I still like the 80's big hair. Ha ha ha. I don't really wear it like that though. Anyways, love your ginger hair. Good luck with whatever YOU choose.

The look that you are sporting now was okay for way back when. You are a nice looking guy so why not go for something more trendy and up to date? It would definitely help you out with the ladies. TRUST ME ON THIS!!

well i would think it was good if u left the hair on the sides...now u have whats called a hightop. next time dont shave the sides and you'll be cool
