first please do not put all christian men in the same boat. Most do think worldly about find a wife but not all. I first look for a girl who loves the LORD, then I admit I need to be attracted to her looks but that is after I get to know her for who she is.

This would be better ask of men, not Christians in general.
It's been my experience that men say things like:
I want a woman who doesn't spend an hour in the bathroom putting on make up.
but they don't mean it.
I want a woman who doesn't spend all my money on clothing.
but they don't mean it.
I want a woman who is strong and independent.
but they don't mean it.
In truth, men are just bigger versions of little boys. And most of them want trophy wives.
There are some good ones out there, but ya REALLY gotta dig.

I am not really understanding your question. I thought marriage was an agreement between two people, we arent in grade school waiting to be picked for the kickball team.

There is nothing wrong with being attracted to someone who takes care of themselves. Aren't you attracted to attractive people? I think you would be less than honest if you didn't turn this question around on yourself!

My wife and I became Christians only after marriage, but I still believe God selected her for me. It must be wonderful being aware of and knowing / trusting God to select our mates. Awesome.

You would think so.
But, maybe you are not meeting the right Christian men?

Would I be proving your point, or at least helping it, if I told you my wife often is mistaken for my mother, but I love her for who she is.
It had nothing to do with my religion though. Or lack there of I should say.
