Because America is always held to a higher standard than the rest of the world is. It's the same reason that we can't just go in and bomb the hell out of Iraq - or why we don't behead the prisoners that we have in Iraq even though that's what Iraqi terrorists are doing to OUR people that they capture. Because it's not an even playing field. America has to follow a higher set of rules and standards than the rest of the world. It's not right, but it's true.

Hispanic immigrants would not want to come here without documentation if there were no jobs. Why has America failed to enforce laws against hiring illegal aliens? (hint - it has something to do with the fact that business interests really control the Republican party, your party doesn't care about you, if you are a regular middle class person.)

It is not America that is afraid it is the repuglican party. If you cut down on the number of illegal aliens the rich would not have a constant supply of cheap labor. All the time blaming the democrats. They really should be ashamed.

I don't think their afraid, it's a conflict of interest. Politicians have been profiting from illegal immigration for years now. If their afraid of anything it's the "Under the table" payoffs they will no longer get.

well considering Bush is gonna build a big wall on the mexico border, I wouldn't say America is afraid to secure the border.

We're not afraid we are fighting our own government.
The government is being paid by big business to import cheap labor.
The cheap labor takes advantage of every social services program they can and are a burden to society. Because it's easier to collect welfare than it is to work!
$ 11 BILLION to $22 BILLION is spent on WELFARE to illegal aliens each year.

It simply can't and doesn't want to. In principle it would be no different than the old USSR if it did. Plenty of poor dumb schmucks aren't afraid to let the government lock them in and in time it is likely to happen.
