technically they can be left in the crate for 8 hours, but i wouldn't recomend doing it. they might start to pee in the create and all the pody training you've worked so hard for will go right out the window. if the dog doesnt pee in the house maybe purchase a baby gate and lock the dog off in a certain part of the house so at least it can roam around a bit.

A puppy can be left in a crate for quite a while. If the puppy is crate trained you you would have no problem leaving him in the crate for that period of time.

Dogs should not be crated during the day for more than 6 hours. Some can max out at 8 hours, but it puts a strain on their bowels and bladder which may lead to infection.
Do you have a neighbor or coworker who can let the dog out?

Try it for a day and see how he is doing. My dog can be in a crate for 8 hours but I do not have to do it often. It is a Maltese. I am not sure about small puppies. You may have to stay with your routine for a little while longer.

A six month old puppy, depending on the breed, should be able to handle being in there for 8 hours. However, if it is a small breed, you may have to continue coming home at lunch to let her relieve herself as their bladders are smaller.

A puppy can stay in their crate from 8-12 hrs, usually around 6mths they have full use of their bladder, so she should be fine.

It's best to say that for every month a puppy is, that's about as long as they can hold it. She's six months, so if you're gone over eight hours, don't be surprised to come home to something. Eight to ten hours is the norm for adult dogs.

Puppies can stay in a crate their age in months +1 ... more or less, depending on breed. Larger breeds have larger bladders.

we crate trained our dog and when he was a puppy he was in his crate from 8am - 4pm.. he turned out fine. he never peed in his crate and he actually liked it. put some toys and stuff in there and after he's trained, leave the crate there, open, and he'll still sleep in it, i'm sure. it's a comfort to them.
