There is absolutely nothing wrong with this woman. Whether or not she wants to have sex or not is her personal choice and no one has the right to assume that there is something wrong with her just because she doesn't follow societies "rules" about what kind of sex life a woman should or should not have. Good for her!! Why should this woman have to justify her sex life to anyone? The point of the feminist movement was to give women the freedom to make decisions about their own lives not to teach women to give in to societies ridiculous notions about how a woman should behave sexually. Pressuring women into having sex before they feel like they want to is just as bad as forcing them to be virginal. Putting a liberal "free sex" swing on it does not make it more acceptable. Leave this woman alone and let her live in peace. She does not owe anyone any explanations about her boudoir experiences or lack thereof.

It's definitely okay, but not common. But it depends on personal choice really. Loads of people take a vow of chastity until after marriage, but that's mostly because they think it's too special. From the looks of it you have two main reasons- the fact that it'll hurt and the fact that you're not ready. But, I might add that you have been together for 9 years and so maybe you're just hiding because you're scared, but are actually ready. It is okay, and essentially all that matters is that you have no regrets, if he's not pressuring you, and you dont want to, then there's no reason at all as to why some random people on Yahoo! Answers should try and do otherwise. Stick to what you think

While it might seem unusual in this day and age to still be a virgin at 28, I don't think it means there is anything wrong with anyone. I just think it means that the woman has not been interested enough in anyone to persue a sexual relationship with them. Whatever the reason, it is her business.

She should be proud of herself. Being a virgin is not supposed to be a bad thing, even if it wasn't for religious reasons. She's also saving herself from STDs and god knows what else.
But I do advise her to go out and meet some people, maybe she will happen to find that special person.
She will never know if she doesn't try.

It sounds like this woman knows what she is doing. She is probably financially independant, does not have any drama in her life and wants to keep it like that. She fooled around but nothing more because she could sense that they just werent the one. She may have a list of have to's and no one is meeting them. Which is fine. More power to her!! I say support her and learn from her.

I don't find anything wrong with it. Maybe she just hasn't had someone that she trusted enough to have sex with. Or maybe she doesn't want to be used, so she is picky.
It is rare nowadays, but nothing wrong with it at all.

Well cherry it would seem that your friend hasn't been able to make a strong enough emotional connection with someone and that she shouldn't be worried about sex. I'd like to e-mail her let me send her my address.
