I think if you made it in a bread machine the dough would become overworked, leaving a tough pie crust when baked. I imagine it CAN be done, but I wouldn't advise it.

Make shortening into dough? Is there flour involved? Are you talking about a pie crust? Geez i hate when these stoopid people post such a vague question.

Well my answer would be yes. I know with my bread machine it can mix doughs as long as there is not more that 4 cups of flour in the recepie. It does all the mixing and kneeding for you. I use it often to make my doughs, prolly more that I actually cook in it.

Um shortening doesnt magically turn into dough from kneading so I don't know what you mean.
