If the blister is large enough, apply manual pressure from one side thereby increasing the pressure on the other side. Then "sterilize" a needle by applying a flame from a lighted match onto the tip of the needle for a few seconds. Allow the needle point to cool in several seconds and then "pop" the blister cap and express the serous contents. Apply a topical antibiotic cream like neoporin and a bandaid for several days until the blister heals and the skin dries out.
Do not use an ointment; an ointment won't allow the skin to "breathe"--it is too viscous. You may clean the healing drained blister with lukewarm soapy water once or twice daily also to prevent infection.

Aloe Vera has been used for YEARS!! Good 'ole Neosporin is a plus as well. If those two things don't make it go away within a few days - see your doctor. As far as tenderness and pain - those are the best to kick it out of the way. You might want to apply those and put a band-aide on it while you're working or schooling then at home at night - take the band-aid off and wash it to let it air out. It's the mother in me. We know alot of things!

Do NOT use tiger balm, best thing is put a plaster on it to protect it and let it heal naturally.

I know I said it was the best way but me myself would pop it with a pin, squirt out all the watery stuff and then pick it until I had removed all the skin, then moan it hurts and then put a plaster on it!

the blister will protect the wound that is under it so do not break it. Put some neosporin on it and cover it with a bandage. Or use bactine, which has a numbing agent in it.
