As long as you follow the directions, then you will do no harm. Stray from the directions, and all bets are off.

the reason the vet wants them on a cycle for the drops is by the time you see one flea, the house can be infested. The life cycle of a flea means that at any one point you can have several different cycles happening in your home at the same time. If your cats are not having problems with the drops, would strongly recommend keeping up with them. Fleas are also very good travelers, so even though the cats may not go outside, the fleas can still come in your home.

Speaking as someone who has kept a great many pets over the years I feel you should know that all animals that go outside tend to have fleas (even when you use the drops on them). The use of drops just reduces the number.
As the drops are specifically made for your pet, you should find that they will not make him/her sick, however, if you are worried there are a few alternatives:- collars, powders, sprays or using citronella (essential oil available from most herbalists - which is the base for most products) in thr same way as the drops.
Whatever you decide Good Luck

The cats will not get sick.
Generally, if you keep all of your cats inside, it will lessen the chances of your cats ever getting fleas. Unless you have a dog who goes outside, who could easily transfer fleas onto your cats. Even YOU can give your animals fleas, just by walking in the grass, although, it is rare.
So, if your cats do not have fleas & they don't go outside, then you should be able to stop using the flea drops.

If your cats go outside, or if you have another animal that goes outside, then it is more likeyl that they will get fleas. I don't think any of my animals have gotten sick over that medicine, but since you are worried about it, I would chose another means of flea prevention like a flea collar, but that is if your animals go outside any. I hope that helps.

it probably won't make them sick; most everyone uses them, just make sure you get a trusted brand. as far as stopping, yes, your cat will likely get fleas if you live in a flea area and you aren't giving them any type of treatment. there are other types of treatments if you don't like the drops; ask your vet. there are also shampoos and sprays. but i don't know if they are as effective as the drops.

Just follow the instructions. If he still does have fleas I would suggest getting something better at the vet, the store kind was always a waste imo.

Same with me- both of my cats are flea-free so I don't give them the medicine each month. I'll give it to them if they get fleas again but until then I don't see why they'd need the medicine.

yes, stop the drops and you'll get fleas again.
The drops from the Vet? is that what you're using? If so, the drops are made for long term usage and if it hasn't made them sick or ill in any way by now, they probably wont get that way.

Do you cats ever go outside or do you have a dog that goes outside? If they go out then you could get transfer. If your cats are strickly indoor, they won't get them. It is getting cold now and fleas won't survive. When the weather is warmer is when animals usually get them. Don't worry. If you stop the treatments, your cats should be fine. No fleas! YAH!!
