Don't use baby wipes when you clean off urine or poop. Use wash clothes (wet), with soap. Leave him out of a diaper during the night. If you have disposable changing table pads you can put down on his crib for him to lay on, let his bottom air dry. You'll do some extra laundry, but his bottom will clear up within a few days I can guarantee it! My son had several diaper rashes and that is what we did to get rid of them because nothing seemed to work!! And once they were gone, we'd use petroleum jelly on his butt as a barrier so he wouldn't get anymore diaper rashes. Good luck and I hope this helped!!

My oldest used to get diaper rash a lot and creams wouldn't work. I used baby powder (the kind with cornstartch in it is good) everytime I changed her diaper to protect the skin from wetness. Sometimes those baby wipes can irritate the skin worse too. I used to wash her off with warm water and baby soap in the tub when she had a dirty diaper, rather than use wipes. It's more time consuming, but the wipes were too harsh for her. The Aquaphor lotion is really good too, it has almost a vaseline-like consistency to it. It will also protect the skin from wetness.

My daughter gets really bad diaper rash every so often, and what I've found to work the best is a product called Dyprotex. I also change her diaper every hour or two and let her be naked as much as possible. The stuff works miracles. Give it a try.

Straight up good old Shea butter. Available in most health stores. Works great. Use olive oil in between changes and make your own wipes. Use a little Kastille soap or baby shampoo and olive oil in a bucket (tupperware or lg. yogurt container.)with 2 cups of water. Throw in baby cloths about 10 or 15 of them and you have your own homemade baby wipes. Cheaper, works better and helps to heal babys bum. Lavendar is also very healing. I have done this method on both my kids and never have had a problem. Also, stay away from scented diapers. Very bad for their poor bums. Use huggies or cloth. My whole family has very sensitive skin and none of my children ever got diaper rashes after using this method. Nature knows best.

I was allergic to diaper ointments too. Just use wipes and powder every time you change his diaper, powder will sooth and reduce the redness this worked for me so maybe it will work for you too. Rosie O'Donell had said to remove the baby daiper and let the child play with puppies, kind of a weird idea, but who knows until you try it whether it will work or not...

Its the zinc-oxide in the creams that he's probably allergic too, so that might rule out cornstarch as well. You could try petrouleum jelly, that works well, and if that doesn't help, I would suggest buying a tube of monistat. It sounds crazy, but it does work. Also, don't use wipes. When you change him, just run his rear under warm water and pat dry, don't rub. This should work.

You should take your baby to the doctors.
It may not be a regular rash it could be a yeast infection on the skin and needs immediate and special treatment and airing. Please see your pediatrician.

Use Vaseline and let him be naked as much as possible. The air is good for the sore booty.
