Thanks for all the responses Jermey went to the vet this morning and was diagnosed with PNEUMONIA.

Go to the vet.
There are several dog viruses that can make them pretty sick, and a new dog is already stressed by the change in lifestyle...
He needs to be looked at.

First take the dog's temperature. Anything over 102 is not good. If it has a fever, get it to the vet immediately.
The runny nose and lack of sleep may be caused by stress, if it just moved from the pound to your house. So, if the dog isn't running a fever, and it eats normally, poops normally, and doesn't appear to be sluggish or sleepy all the time, it may recover as soon as it feels secure in it's new environment.
If it's not eating or has runny diarrhea, though, it needs to go to the vet.

Take him to the vets. Ive make mistakes before with animals thinking that it may not be anything, give it a couple of days it might get better. That dont always happen somtimes it can get worse and real bad, would reccomend you to take him to the vets asap, at least then you would know whats wrong. Good Luck, and all the best xx

If you adopted him from a shelter, I would give them a call, they generally will check over the dog at no cost. Especially if it is something he came with. Usually they will cover the cost of all follow up and medication. If they don't, he still needs to be seen by a vet. It may only be a cold but you never know.

It doesn't sound like an emergency. It is probably the stress from being uprooted and moved to a new home. He may have been abused before. If he is eating, drinking, pooping and peeing okay, I would just watch for a couple of days and see if he seems okay. Good luck with the new baby. They are wonderful dogs.

Take it to the vet. It could be something as simple as a cold or something more serious. I would not take the risk with my dog to wait longer. If it is just a cold, your vet can give your dog some anti-biotics.

I'd take him to the vet- not just because it could be serious- but also because even if it's not serious, the problem may be easy to solve so the poor thing doesnt have to suffer with a cold and loss of sleep.
