I look at myself in the mirror everyday and I hate what I see...I'm a female,23 years old and my problem is my body. I'm too skinny... My height is about 5'1 and I weigh under 90 pounds..I've been struggling to gain weight a few years now and I'm still at the point where I started! I haven't been getting any results. It's like no matter what I try, nothing works..All I want is to have a healthy body and feel good about myself. I hate feeling as though people are staring at me all the time. It sucks... I'm not an anorexic. I jus have a problem gaining weight. It's so frustrating cuz I'm getting fed up of trying.... Is there anything anyone can share that might help?? I'd really appreciate it.

I have the same paroblem. I'm 29, 5'5" 100 lbs. People call me skinny, anorexic etc.... every day. It gets old. Plus, it's really hard to find clothes that fit.

Only recommendation I have is to visit a nutriicionist at your local hospital or gym They can put you on a specific diet.

You may also want to have your thyroid checked. I had mine checked, nothing was wrong, but it put me at ease a little.

I would suggest seeing a nutritionist possibly, and coming up with a nutritional diet to add more calories to your diet. Sometimes, people are naturally thin, and can't gain a pound! My uncle is underweight and he is really tall, and he wanted to go to the army, but he was unable to because he tried everything he could to gain weight...but it wasn't working for him. So speak to a doctor or nutritionist and start on a new diet that increases your calories at least by 200 a day if not 500 or more...it all depends on the person! Good luck, and I really hope you start feeling a bit better about your body! Take care hun!

Be happy with the way you are. If you're healthy, just ignore any of the negative rhetoric. You'll be glad you're thin framed when you get into your 30's. Most women gain quite a bit when they get older.

Health and beauty come from within and if you're healthy at your present weight and you're happy then there's really nothing to worry about.

Of course if you insist on gaining weight, eat more protein and lift lots of heavy weights. Do it healthily though, don't risk your health just to conform with some "standard" you think is enforced on you.

I just finished anorexia recovery, so I completely understand your fear of gaining "fat" weight. Trust me, YOU WON'T. I thought the same thing would happen, but I did some light cardio (uphill walking, then gradually adding in running) as I recovered and ate more. Everything I ate went purely into muscle mass. Just make sure you aren't eating a bunch of junk food. The best suggestion I can give you is to talk to a nutritionist who specializes in eating disorders.

Okay I have your problem, and here is some serious answers that I have researched/been told. First of all, still eat healthy, dont stuff yourself silly, and do excercise.

Eat higher calorie fruits and veggies (bananas, carrots, apples basically any fruit and veggie that is not watery.

protein! Eat lean meat, eat peanutbutter, ask your doctor about taking some protein powder, my doc prescribed me some to take, and it actually doesn't taste to bad.

Eat healthy high calorie foods like nuts, legumes, wheat crackers.

Never be plain. Top your toast with maregines made with healthy fats, peanut butter, jelly. add cheese to your scrambled eggs. This will add calories without filling you up. Cook with healthy olive oil and sprinkle it on your saled, add eggs, crackers and other filling stuff to your salads. fill omelets with cheese and veggies. Order creamy soups.

Swich to whole grains, there healthier and more calorie dense. Eat complex carbohydrates, not loads of sugar.

Eat 3 meals and at least 3 snacks.

here are some healthy high calorie snack ideas.

1. plain full fat yogurt and frozen berries blended together and some peanuts mixed, makes a great dip.

2. Cheesy garlic bread made with whole wheat bread.

3.peanut butter on toast with bananas washed down with full fat milk.

4.whole wheat blueberry muffins, or pancakes

5. Pasta!

6. homemade pizza.

Now, If you wanna gain weight but still be healthy do weight training and resistance excercises. Do crunches, and buy hand and ankle weights, and use them. And jump rope too, or swim.remember muscle ways more than fat!

ALso , if you can weight training is good to gain weight. You can make protein drink out of egg white milk, icecream and peanut butter!

You have to try some red meat. Lean red meat is best. You'll get good stuff in that. I'd also suggest dairy. That said, don't do a lot of running or anything. Go with some weight/strength training.

Sounds like you need a personal trainer to set your diet for you and a weight lifting program to help build muscle. See a local gym. It might set you back a few bucks, but it would be worth it.

Sit on the coach all day and eat carbohydrates.

Eat donuts in the morning, too.

So, if you really want to gain weight... just be lazy and eat.
