I've always wanted my hair curly and was jealous of the fact both my brothers got the curly hair and I didn't. My hair is like this http://img53.imageshack.us/img53/7941/picture021qx4.jpg but about an inch and a half longer (bangs too). It's also very thin. Do you think it would suit my face?

(My mother-in-law will be doing it at her salon, she said most likely with 3/4" rollers, so it'll be looser curls, not spirals.)

Also what about colors? I have Light Brown with golden and ash highlights (if you can believe that!) for hair, the bottom is still growing out some old black dye. I have red tones to my skin so I doubt I can do blonde.

Blonde does not go with red skin. I've also had various hair stylists tell me that, plus I hate blonde.

I say go for it. looks like your hair could use some extra volume at least.

Do a gentle perm with looser curlers. Thin hair can accentuate volume by being permed. Your mother-in-law should be able to recommend a good size of roller if she's a reputable hair dresser.

Wait until after you perm your hair because the perming solution may actually remove some of the color from the dye. And wait a couple of weeks before coloring your hair.

First of all know what you want without damaging your hair. If this is your basis in anystyle you choose, PERM if you like it and if it is being done by a professional, like you Step M-mum pretty cool. You are lucky Your bill will be smaller or inexistent. You can do blond too if you want, just don't go too light and what you wear during this colour session...until the colour lasts will highlight and match your looks. Some make up will help in that regard. Try it, you will most certainly like it.

I really do not think you should perm your hair at all right now because you have been coloring it, double processing with chemicals is not good. The other thing, you said your hair is thin,if it is fine in texture that is another reason not to perm.Fine, thin hair does not hold up to chemicals like other types of hair. If you do decide to perm, when the solution is on your hair it needs to be watched very carefully and checked allot. Fine, thin hair perms faster then course hair. Good luck in whatever you choose to do.

Before you go permanent with a perm (no pun intended), maybe you should try having it styled in various ways to see what it would look like. This way you can always change you mind before you get stuck with something you'll wind up hating.

As for the color: Maybe you could try some of those "wash-in and wash-out" hair colors. I mean the temporary coloring.

Good luck.

I like your hair and the color the way it is but if you are going to get a perm big loose curls are fine but you know straight is in now right? I just think your really pretty the way you are but if you change I hope you look awesome. Good Luck!

No! Perms are still passe, and not healthy for your hair. appreciate your natural beauty...straight or curly.
