I don't think any possibility for brain transplant giving consideration that brain is a highly delicate and super sensitive organ that slight manipulation or handling could alter its functions. Just think what effect it gets just by bumping the head.

Alright, let us speculate its possibilities. You suggest transplanting it in different species. Wow!, I think we will expect to see dog meowing, cats croaking, birds barking, and perhaps a human galloping. Some sort of carnival?Hmm....

Anyway, as long as we are in this subject, let me to mention that what the scientists in pursue until now is the head transplantation which had been successfully done in a monkey.♥ Check out in this wiki page just in case you are interested:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Head_transplant

Technically speaking a brain transplant is really a body transplant.

Yes, it has been done before many years ago, more or less, on a primate, by the famous neurosurgeon, Dr Robert White. The primate did wake up only to find himself totally paralysed from the neck down because of the problem with connecting the spinal cord to the hindbrain.

Neurosurgeons say its only a matter of time. But like I said, since the essence of being human is preserved within the brain, you are really doing a body transplant.

In salamanders it is definitely possible and done fairly routinely. Amphibians regenerate the neural connections. Some of the behavioral results like making a vegetarian salamander into a carnivore are startling demonstrations of successful cross species brain transplantation.

Transplants among mammals and specifically primates have not involved the brain in isolation, but have been merely demonstrations that you can "keep a head alive" with no neural connections to the body.

The science of medicine is not sufficiently advanced to allow the transplantation of advanced animal brains. Nor can it be done between different species. So, the answer to both your questions is "no."

A brain transplant of any kind is not possible at this time and probably would not work interspecies due to variations in anatomical structure, neural connections and functions.

an excellent shaggy dog tale yet i'm afraid this is totally almost actual. The politicians use their brains for determining a thank you to play around their fees and that they do no longer use it while thinking the welfare of the damaging tax payers. I smiled at it nevertheless.

Technically it could probably be done, but I wouldn't think you could mix species. The brain would be sending the wrong signals.
