if yes, how?
by the way, I've got Reinstallation CD for my DELL Computer. but it is Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition. and it say that it can't change professional to home edition so how does it works? and how do i change it to Home edition?

you can't you have to reformat and reinstall. i would leave it alone for now, hopefully you'll never have to do that, but just in case, you can always downgrade to home.
If you have the orange sticker with the activation key that came with the xp professional disk, you can just make a copy of some else's xp pro and use that.

Home and Professional are two different Versions of X P.

Professional offers more security features than Home. You have to but XP Professional, and this software will not regress to XP Home. Or, you have to buy XP Home and this software will only go to XP Professional unless you buy the Professional Upgrade software. If you do not P Professional, it is better to buy XP professional and not XP Professional Update.

When you have bought the Dell computer you will have to look first what the o/s is installed.If you like to install Window XP home edition,you have to by software for Window XP home edition from Microsoft or any authorized retailers.It's a business software,if you like to change it reformat your drive first and than use the window xp CD.

Not sure why you would want to use Home instead of Professional. You could reformat your computer and install XP Home from scratch and that should do the trick. Professional is better than Home though.

yes you back up your files frist on to (cd) (r) or (cd(rw) disk then you format the pc and just install windows xp home befor you do that make sure you have your drivers cd & motherboard cd
