until you have an appendectomy, you can continue to have appendicitis, and most who refuse the surgery and dont rupture, do indeed have frequent reoccurences of appendicitis. When the appendix does rupture, as eventually it will, then emergency surgery is required to stop bleeding, and try to prevent peritonitis or infection of the abdominal cavity.

If you have appendicitis your appendix is surgically removed. If it wasn't removed you did not have appendicitis. You can't get it twice if it was removed.

It's an infection, so yes--you can. You can't get the EXACT same virus twice but your appenidix is something else entirely. That said, if it happens repeatedly you may need it yanked.

Of course if you still have your appedix. Remove and lose the problem, unless there is scar tissue problems or post op infection.
